We are a discussion-based subreddit dedicated to support, inform, and advise dog owners. My dog is chipped, but I still like having the tags because it makes it easier to get in touch with me without making a trip to the vet. The only con is that it doesn’t have the plethora of information his QR tag does. It has his name, my name, and my phone number. On the other hand, the regular dog tag is easy to understand. It could also be an elderly person who simply does not know how to use QR codes. The drawback is that if he only wears the QR tag, someone could claim ignorance on knowing how to use it or what the words “scan me” mean. It also details his temperament (keep away from children), allows the finder to share their location with me, and lists his health conditions. The QR code is great because it lists my number, an alternate number, and my email. I’ve decided to keep just one but i cant decide which to use. Not sure why! But his head hobbles around when both are on his collar. I have both for my dog, but since My Shih Tzu is ten pounds, wearing both tags strains his neck.
